Shorts and Sandals

Daily Thought: I am from South Florida. That means I can wear sandals 365 day’s a year, I never need to lug sweaters and coats around, and certainly no shoveling snow. Sometimes though, I cant help but feel a little left out when it comes to seasons and changing weather. Thousands of snow birds flee the northern hemisphere and flock to the sunshine state, meanwhile I wish I was heading up north to take part in the typical holiday nostalgia like making snowmen, fall clothes, and ice skating (outdoors, on a lake)! Don’t feel too bad however, tomorrow, and for the rest of the holiday season, you can probably find me at the beach or outside with my son, wearing shorts and sandals.

Keyboard or Notebook?

ImageDaily Photograph:Above is my son, I took this photo at the park on a beautiful cloudy day. He is my heart and soul and I am glad to introduce him to everyone.

Daily thought: There is no substitute to a good notebook and pen, typing my thoughts just doesn’t compare. There is something very organic about writing, it feels like my thoughts flow smoothly. I love good penmanship, and have always found people’s writing styles intriguing. When you record your thoughts, do you find it easier to write with pen and paper or do you prefer to type?

Learn Something Daily: I am signing up for this course and you should too!

Daily Recipe: Just a warning, I have tried this recipe and is is out of this world. Do not make this delectable treat unless you are prepared to throw all you fitness goals, and nutritional boundaries out the window to finish every last crumb. It’s that good.

Daily Design: Love the brown craft paper over wood for a menu in a cafe. Looks clean and cozy.

Hanging on the Telephone

A great daily read! I should add this as a quote to my about me section.

Listful Thinking

Yesterday, I spent 20 minutes clicking my way deeper and deeper into a company’s website, looking for someone’s email address. Unless you’re looking for an incredibly specific, possibly illegal item that’s only sold by a tiny curio shop in the Ukraine, that’s a stupid amount of time to spend looking for anything online. I was determined to find the address or die trying, though, because my only other option was calling her.

Yep. I had her phone number the whole time. When it comes down to it, I would rather fly a rickety, snake-infested plane to the Ukraine to hunt down an incredibly specific, possibly illegal item that’s only sold by a tiny curio shop there than pick up the phone and call someone.

Hopefully the recipe I included will inspire you to use left over chicken and pantry items to create a delicious meal. Click the links to view some AWESOME pictures and websites. I will mix up which daily’s I include based on what I am feeling on a particular day.  I would really appreciate some feedback from some of my fellow bloggers :P.

  • Daily picture: Harness the power. I love the perspective of this photo.
  • Daily thought: What is going on in the South Pacific right now is gut retching. My heart goes out to all the victims of the Typhoon in the Philippines and those who are preparing for this terrible storm to hit there shores. Before you go to sleep tonight, safe and sound, near your loved ones, say a prayer for those who are not so lucky tonight.
